Even superheroes can not be perfect. They get exhausted, stressed, anxious and put themselves last most times.
Whether you’re a mom-to be, a new mother or someone who’s been at it for years, the level of fatigue of having to carry, raise and run a family is incomparable. If you’re a working mom as well, I know the overwhelming exhaustion that you go through.
Mental fatigue is another real issue, and it often stems from worrying too much. Self-doubt and feelings of not being enough are normal. Being a mother is a 24/7 responsibility, and no matter how old your child is, you just can’t help worrying over even the tiniest of things. Sounds familiar?
As mothers, we should learn to let go at times. The chores of motherhood often leave us with little time for ourselves, but to maintain and be a more wholesome, reinvigorated, and inspiring mother we should first and foremost take care of ourselves. When “I don’t have time” or “I have no energy” are the common answers to everything “just for you”-activities, then that is when you absolutely should start thinking to take the time.

While a once so often manicure, spa-treatment, shopping with a girlfriend is great, it is the daily “you”-routine that will make the difference. You know that eating a healthy diet and incorporating a daily stress-relieving activity like yoga will be good for you, but to find the time to do them is the real challenge. Nonetheless, you should. Even 5-15 minutes of simple yoga and deep breathing exercises will help in the long run.

I am trained in therapeutic, alignment-based yoga, so the way that I teach the poses is actually similar to physical therapy for the body. We strengthen the joints rather than over-stretch them, and teach how to stabilize the lower back and shoulders so holding the baby won’t lead to misalignments and pain.
In Prenatal Yoga, we open up to our deepest intentions about who we want to be as a mom, and learn to put them into action. In
Mom Yoga+Baby, we are going to do a lot of work to re-connect to our center, strengthen, and nourish our bodies so we can give all that the baby needs and all the energy mom needs. In Mom & Kid Yoga, we do yoga together with the child, making it quality time, instead of the kids running around while we try to get some «me» time. In «I’m not just a mom» Yoga we concentrate solely on building up our feminine body and mind.
